Lup San has an excellent website on East Asia orchids: http://members.tripod.com/asia_flora
Two weeks ago I had a fight with my mum over the orchids. It was a complicated a long fight which involved my parking the orchids at my aunts for three weeks now. The two catts, all the mini dens are now at my aunt's, with the exception of the two new ones next to me. I miss seeing them grow.

Wow, I am very excited to find these website. I hope i can have friends from these website who adores orchids. Dont get me wrong, i do have friends but they are just not particular with the kind of hobby i have. They would rarely go with me on plant stores because they find it boring so i always end up going there all by myself. But my lonesomeness is actually a blessing in situations where i visit a plant/orchids shows because i have all the time that i want and without the worry of looking after someone where he/she is maybe.
My liking for this God given jewels of the forest, which is of course and always will be, ORCHIDS was when my late auntie gave me a bromeliad.HAHAHA Since it was the first, i didnt know it was a bromeliad. If i'm not mistaken i was in 2nd year high school then when i received my first true blue orchid, a dendrobium with a white and pink flower. I forgot to ask specically the "name" of the dendrobium which my father bought me, as i've said i was a newbie in the field.
Days passed into years, i have collected quite a number of orchids. But sad to say, i've lost quite a number too especially during my college and working days. I lost some of my prized specimens due to my buzy schedules with work, diseases/pests (i abhor them) and plain laziness. For now, i am busy reviving the orchids that have stood with me throught thick and thin and gearing into adding new delights to my garden. Don't get me wrong, i only have a small garden, its not that big compared to other people's garden but mine is just right for me for now.
Before, i end my first blog, i think many of you know that the gardening world especially in the west are starting to go organic. I would just like to ask if you have any idea or effective organic fertilizer that you use for your orchids? As of now, i am also much into organic gardening, meaning to say, my soil loving plants are the ones benefiting my organic fertilizers. I would love to extend this type of gardening to my orchids as well.
Hoping for your favorable responses.
God bless you all.
ciao!!!
