A Voter's View of the Hustings:

Observations on December 30th, Campaign Day Seven.

  1. And here silly me thought party political broadcasts were based on number of seats contested! If that is the case, how come 30 full minutes (yes, no ads) was devoted from 11:00-11:30 p.m. today with exerpts of the PAP's lunchtime rally held earlier today? Chok Tong and OM Lee spoke (thank god Loong was not shown!). So, I suppose, wait a minute ... I am getting a vision ... could the TV station might be biased in favour of the PAP? Could that be the case? We live in a democracy right? Fair play and all that.

  2. Today's issues were basically banging away at the WP Tang bloke (sounds like an orange drink :0). Fine, Chok Tong, you have made your point. I agree with you that if Tang is indeed as you make him out to be, then he does not deserve a seat in parliament. I say "make him out to be" because like all PAP stuff, only the truth is out, but not the WHOLE truth. With insufficient truths, how can I judge him? If I could vote against him if he is indeed that bad, I would. But alas, that is not to be. Chok Tong, since you are not mentioning ANYTHING about the Choo Wee Khiang's racist statement in parliament and he is running AGAIN, how can I assume that you are not doing this Tang thing because Lee Yoke Suan is a lame duck minister with no coattails to bring in the GRC? Wee Khiang *actually* uttered racist remarks in the last Parliament and, in agreeing with you, we cannot let that continue.
