A Voter's View of the Hustings:

Observations on December 23th, Nomination Day.

  1. What a sad day for Singaporean Democracy! The silly system of walkovers has given the PAP a majority. We must change this system to one in which even if there is a walkover, people MUST sill vote them and they MUST get at least 50% of the votes or else there are no automatic parliamentary seats. OM Lee has said that those PAP rookie MPs who got in without a contest are losing out. Why does OM Lee not change this silly system then?

  2. Local radio did not report anything about Chia Shi Teck. But, the BBC World Service carried a great interview of him. Alas, the incompetence of local media.

  3. Hurray, I can vote this time - thanks to GerrymandeRed Constituencies aka GRCs, I am now not in Tanjong Pagar but in West Coast! Time to register my displeasure with the stupid Internet Regulations nonsense :-)!
