The Hutchinson-stopper Bottle
The first bottles to contain carbonated Coca-Cola were Biedenharn's
soda water bottles marked "Biedenharn Candy Co., Vicksburg, Miss." The
original thick-walled, 178 ml (six-ounce) bottles used Hutchinson stoppers
rather than bottle caps.
The "Crown-top" Bottles
These crown-top bottles were given a distinctive Cocal-Cola identity
by at least one of the following three devices:
( 1 ) the trademark "Coca-Cola" was blown into the glass;
( 2 ) the bottle cap was marked with the trademark; and
( 3 ) a diamond-shaped paper label printed with the trademark was glued
to the side of the bottle
