STATEMENT ON SINGAPORE AIRLINE SQ006 CRASH IN TAIPEI ON 31ST OCTOBER, 2000

In the aftermath of the tragic accident involving Singapore Airlines, the Families of SilkAir MI185 Association wishes to express its deepest sympathies and condolences for the victims and survivors of SQ006, which crashed in Taipei last night.

As we ourselves continue to grieve for those we lost 3 years ago, we can fully understand and sympathize with the feelings of shock and anguish that must now be surrounding victims and families members. Even as we pray for the speedy recovery of those injured and traumatized by the accident, our Association would like to offer its assistance to the bereaved in any way within our means. We also wish the SIA 'buddies' delegated the task of consoling the family members in Taipei all the best in what we know is an extremely difficult and demanding job.

If there is anything else our Association can do to help or support these efforts, we will not hesitate to assist.
