PSPScoop Review:
The first thing you notice when take the item from the box is a foul, plastic-like odour. You can't wash off the smell, but you can certainly get rid of most of it by soaking the cover in a pail of water mixed with lemon juice overnight, which I did.
Once the cover is ready, I slipped it into my PSP and find that the fit is almost perfect. The sleeve's plastic cover is sufficiently thick enough to protect your PSP from scratches but the screen's still pretty exposed, so you still need a screen protector. The sleeve also features 2 molded grooves designed to give your fingers a better grip when holding the PSP. While the idea is good, I find it somewhat redundant since my grip depends very much on the games I'm playing. As for game play after fitting the cover, I find that reflexes are somewhat affected as the thickness of the plastic sleeves do affect your ability to feel the controllers. I took some time getting use to it before I could reach my previous level of game play with Ridge Racer. Last but not least, I find that the cover is able to absorb some of the heat from the PSP after prolong game play so it makes it a little more comfortable to hold.
Overall, I would say this product is value-for-money, and does a good job of protecting your PSP from scratches. However, for the best game play experience, I would still recommend that you play without the sleeve.
