PSP Ver 1.5 Patch Update
Sony has released the first PSP patch for update. This patch applies only to Japanese sets and it aim at bringing the first generation units in line with the recent units released in the US.
The patch offers the following:
- Language support for:
- German
- Dutch
- Spanish
- French
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Russian
- A resume function for media playback after sleep mode
- A fix to prevent changing the screen settings when switching between video files
Installation Instruction
Step 1
Go to the official Sony PSP Site to download the patch. The link is http://www.playstation.jp/psp/update/ud_01.html. Just scroll right to the bottom of the page, and click on "update with personal computer" option. In the next screen, click on the "download" button to download the file "EBOOT.PBP"
Step 2
Insert your memory card into the PSP if you have not already done so. Connect your PSP with your PC via the USB cable. Turn on "USB" mode on your PSP.
Step 3
You should be able to see your PSP memory card as a removable drive on your PC. Make sure you have at least 14MB of storage on your memory card. Create the following folder in the PSP memory card:
Copy the downloaded patch, EBOOT.PBP into the "UPDATE" folder as shown in the below diagram.
Step 4
Turn off the "USB" mode on your PSP. Connect your PSP to the charger and ensure its being charged.
Step 5
Go to the "Game" section on your PSP, scroll to Memory Stick and click it. You will now see "PSP Ver 1.5 Update". Click to start the installation. Once you agree to upgrade, you cannot revert to the previous version.
