Update April/May 2005: The next Mountaineering Course will run in July 2005. Visit SMF website at http://www.smf.org.sg for details.  I am also currently running an Basic Adventure Course for a Secondary School. Will be off to India April 16-May 2 to supervise the first field training trip for the first batch of Mountaineering Course participants. More details on this training when I return.

I have been involved in adventure for more than two decades and spent three decades in various corporate management positions in a large MNC. My adventure travels have brought me to many parts of the world. I am especially familiar with Nepal as I have be there on so many mountaineering and trekking expeditions. I have just recently retired from my corporate career and now can devote full-time to my passion for adventure and for adventure training.

I am currently also the President of the Singapore Mountaineering Federation.

I believe that outdoor education in Singapore and the region is going into a new phase where formal professional education and development is necessary to develop individuals to be highly qualified and competent in their respective field of outdoor interests. Adventure and adventurous activities are growing by leaps and bounds in the region and there is a need for professional expertise in various areas - from school teachers, to tour consultants, outdoor guides and adventure centre business owners and consultants. A high standard of professionalism will go a long way in enhancing safety, proper organisation and promotion of adventurous activities to the benefit of all involved.  This trend is already well established in developed countries and we should follow suit.

With my extensive background and leadership in both adventure and corporate experience, I am well qualified to provide professional training to budding outdoor enthusiasts.
