Parchamo (6273m)

We attempted Parchamo in autumn of 1999. One member managed to climb within 150m of the summit but turned back due to very soft snow conditions. We fly to Lukla to begin our trek up to Namche Bazaar. From Namche we trekked east to the beautiful village of Thame with several lodges run by famous Sherpa climbers. Beyond Thame, no further lodges are available and tents are required. The climb up to high camp on the Tesi Lapcha Pass (5755m) is tough and challenging. Climbing is on snow when approaching the pass.

High camp was established on snow at the top of the pass with a panoramic view of Parchamo looming ahead.

Soft snow conditions made our climb very difficult and exhausting and only one member managed to go up really high on the mountain.

Below are a few thumbnail photos of the climb. More will be added later.
