I'm Vivien Goh from Singapore and this web page will lead you to
many interesting places both in the web and out of it.
Being a mime and clown, I'm interested in all the tools of the
trade, like juggling, magic and all the props and costumes that a clown can have.

Ramblings of a tumbling mind
When I was younger, I used to think that my hair grew from the ends.
And it wasn't till Sec 4 did my classmate correct me - and I argued
with him at length about that too. Life is funny, things that you
take for granted suddenly is not what it seems anymore. It is something
that all of us will experience, but I really do hope that such things
will not happen to me again.
I have always thought that my grandmother was always right. That was
until this year, when I contracted chicken pox. My mom was in it too,
looking back. I started getting a few spots on my face, and being alarmed,
I went to see the doctor. That was on the third day. On the first two days,
I felt ill and had three spots scattered around, and knowing that my friend too
had just contracted chicken pox, I told both my grandmother and
my mother. They were sure that I had it before, so I took their word for it.
Now, I am reaping the crop of my overt trust, waiting for the chicken's reign to
be over. Instead of a quick one week had I been detected earlier, I had to wait for
two and maybe three weeks for it to blow over.

I used to be really idealistic, and believe everything my teacher tells me. All
that changed when my JC Chinese teacher told me I could use my fourth A Level Subject
instead of my Chinese grade (D7) when being considered for the local universities.
That is NOT true, all those out there who got duped by your less than up-to-date
Chinese teacher. As a result, I dropped Chinese as an AO subject after my first
shot at it. And I was estactic, getting a D7. Now it is too late for regrets, and
the university would not allow me to do Arts even though I had background and
experience in the subjects that I wanted to offer. To add insult to injury, the
University has also decided to put my fate on hold. I don't even know if
I can do Computer Science now, after the initial nod from a very understanding
Computer Science lecturer.

( 15th July, and still home because of pox. )
Duanna Pang of Asia-Online, a magazine on the internet, had
interviewed me for its July 1996 issue. She was a good writer,
and the interview that she conducted was both warm, friendly and indepth.
With immaculate taste and bearing, I had a great time watching her.
She was both beautiful and sensitive, and extremely fun to be with.
I wonder if all writers are so, but whatever it is, she wrote a
very inspirational article ( or so it seems to me ) called "Hey nineteen!".
The only fault in the whole feature was that they spelt my name wrong -
on the graphic. Good work, Duanna. Thank you.
SweetHeart the Clown
I'm SweetHeart the clown, mime and poet. How
did I become a clown? Why did I become a clown? People have always
been asking me why clowning? Well, being a clown and a mime
gives you the right to make people happy, and not worry about
them thinking you are crazy or something to have smiled at them.
Also, it gives you the freedom to be who you want to be, a sad
clown, a happy clown, a tramp, or a character. Being a mime
is differnt: very often the aim is a message, and in the process
of the message, people may laugh. Mime is now considered in Singapore
to be one of the " classier " types of entertainment, and people,
from children to adults, all enjoy mime, and the worlds created.
